FALL FESTIVAL 2017
The Wadesboro Church of God held their third annual Fall Festival on
10-28-17 and was a great success. Rose High, our Youth Director along
with her spouse Bruce High, retired Minister headed up the event which
started at 1PM and lasted until around 8PM. This was an open invite
with everything free of charge!

The lower parking lot was used as the staging area for the event and a
rough estimated attendance was between 64 to 80. The weather was
fantastic for this event and there was plenty of good food; Grilled Hot Dogs with
all the trimmings, Pulled Pork BBQ, Chili n Beans, fresh deep fried Pork Skins by Boyce
Adcock, all types of "sweet items", cake, candy, donuts along with soft
drinks, etc. For those of us that partake of the fruit of the coffee bean, there
was fresh brewed coffee in the fellowship hall. I remember the recent sermon that covered caffeine addiction
along with many other things; I called it a John Deere with the mower deck
lowered down sermon, because all of us were mowed down. Go ahead and
grin Pastor Sam Abee! No, he didn't leave out
cell phone

Temperance and moderation is the key!
The young folks had a wonderful time in two "bouncy houses" that were set
up. Our youngest grandson,
Xander Gonzales was non-stop playing until
around 7:32 P.M. when I had to get him back home, of which he was totally pooped
out.

The young folks gave those bouncy houses a workout along with themselves. The longer
camouflage bouncy house deflated in the mid afternoon, but the other one held in
there.

birthday and we all got a chance to sing Happy Birthday to her and wish her

I didn't get to hang around long for the fire, having to get Xander
McKnight Gonzales back home.
In closing, we had a great time and a special Thank You to Rose and Bruce
High for making this event happen and all those that contributed leading to
a successful Fall Festival. The food and fellowship was outstanding
and as I like to say at every opportunity, "Two
of the Greatest Ships that ever Sailed; Friendship and Fellowship."
