CHRISTMAS 2020With my
bride's continued health
issues this Christmas season, I only put up our Christmas tree in the
living room that consists of three sections with small multicolored lights
pre-installed. We had our youngest Grandson,
Xander McKnight
Gonzales and
his sister, Lily
Danielle Gonzales
aka Miss Lily
to
decorate the tree under my bride's supervision, grin if you must!
I brought up from the basement a couple large totes
and smaller boxes with Christmas decor for the upstairs, and my bride decorated
the living room mantel and living room. In the past, we decorated most
of the upstairs plus the
yards and had Christmas Street
Block
Parties.
JESUS IS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON
With all the commercialization of our CHRISTMAS Holiday and so many
attempting to get on the Political Correctness Band Wagon of not
wishing to offend anyone and to me, they have no backbone and don't stand for
anything that really matters and mere puppets; "Pull my little strings and
I'll do anything." Without Jesus Christ our Lord and
Savior, there would be no Christmas since
Jesus is
the Reason for the Season! Whatever your personal
Faith and Religion are, it is your choice and right; I choose to be a
Christian!
CHRISTMAS 2020 & COVID-19
This Christmas Holiday with the Coronavirus (COVID-19) still in full swing and
increasing in intensity, our Demoncratic
Governor has reinforced restrictions to limit gatherings to ten (10) people
which will no doubt help, however the idiots
that do not follow personal safety precautions as recommended by CDC
(Center For Disease Control And Prevention) that are out in the general
public, it is no wonder the Coronavirus continues to rapidly spread.
It is my humble opinion that God has allowed this pestilence
to wake up America
to get back on a spiritual track, but I personally don't see it happening.
Morally, America has passed the point of no return with the ungodly agendas
that are allowed and promoted such as the murder of innocent unborn babies
(abortion), homosexual marriages, etc., which is an abomination and sin in the sight of God!
Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior is the only answer for the survival of America
and not the "hot air" politicians
of both parties in our Local, State and Federal Government!

STUPACRATS
If our Lord tarries long enough and the current 2021
"Stupacrats" in Washington, DC consisting of both
Demoncrats
and Republicans continue to erode our democracy, America might end up
speaking Chinese and have to shoot a
slingshot for hunting and self-defense.

CHRISTMAS EVE FINGER FOOD
PARTY
This year we decided to have our Christmas Eve Finger Food Party and gift
swapping around noon day since our only Grand Daughter Lily Danielle
Gonzales doesn't like to be out at night.
Our immediate family attended plus Shane Hough and we enjoyed some good
finger food and fellowship. I thawed out a few packs of my vacuum
sealed pulled pork BBQ and we had a good ole hickory smoked BBQ sandwich.
ISLAND WORKSTATION
Our island workstation gets a workout during the Holidays and my bride
and myself used the bar stool side for our meals instead of the dining room
table which is ideal for the two of us.
FOOD PIXS
Our menu consisted of pulled pork BBQ, Hot Sausage Dip, Scoops, Sausage
Balls, Party Mix, Cookie Assortment, Apple Zucchini Bread, Mixed Nuts,
Chips, Soft Drinks and Water.
BTW, the guys enjoyed grilled venison back aka
loin straps that
had been lightly brined a few hours in salt and brown sugar water, rinsed
off good in tap water, pat dried, hand cubed and coated with
Wild Bill's Meat
Rub, let sit for 30 minutes and dipped into a mixture of Worcestershire
Sauce and melted
Land-O-Lakes Butter. The back straps were grilled over hot
charcoal and it doesn't get any better than that!

Laura Porter and Shane Huneycutt came in a little late due to not
notifying them that we had moved the party up an hour due to Trevor having
to work in Pinehurst, NC, but there were plenty
of "vittles" for them.

MISS LILY
Lily Danielle Gonzales aka "Miss Lily" with her party dress and Tiara on.
Lily entertained Travis and Trevor the entire time they were here. I
was in the kitchen and could hear Miss Lily chatting away and I kept a good
grin going.
Miss Lily is a "baby doll" for sure!
LILY'S FAVORITE TOYS AT THE PORTER HOME
I rounded up some scrap blocks a year ago from my woodworking shop and I do believe
they are her favorite toys and she will build all kind of shapes; e.g.,
towers, bridges, trains, castles, houses, etc.

Watching our young children and grand children over the decades opening
presents during Christmas has always been a joy and pleasure to witness the
smiles of anticipation while they rip and tear into packages without any
finesse at all, slinging wrapping paper and ribbons in a wild frenzy to
access the gift...........grin if you must!

AMERICAN FLAG
Shane Hough made the above wood American flag and gave it to yours truly
along along with a good knife.
The Grand Boys got folding money and they had some serious grins going.
My bad on not taking pixs of all the present openings, but will blame that
on my hernia surgery of 12-14-2020.
In closing, we had a great time, whereas my bride aka Joyce and myself
don't decorate inside and outside like we once did due to health issues and
other things, nevertheless we keep on keeping on as our
Pastor Sam Abee
relates to us in his sermons every now and then.
"Two of the Greatest Ships that ever sailed,
Friendship and Fellowship" and family and friends make life
worthwhile keeping God foremost in our lives.
I give God through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, the Praise, Honor
and Glory in all things!
