LILY'S 5TH BIRTHDAY
It is hard to believe that Lily Danielle Gonzales aka "Miss Lily" is already
five (5) years old on 03-06-2022. Time definitely is moving by very
fast and seems to be accelerating especially for "us" senior
citizens....grin if you must!
With the COVID-19 still going strong and doesn't seem to be letting
up any, we decided to have a little birthday party at our home for our only
Granddaughter aka "Miss Lily" which is a wonderful blessing to our lives.
This year I decided to do a pot of
Chicken and Dumplings which is a
favorite of Lily's Brother Xander McKnight Gonzales who will be 13 on
March 21, 2022. I boiled the chicken the day before, deboned it
and stored the cooled down broth and chicken in our basement game
refrigerator, since our refrigerator top side is maxed out for sure.
BIRTHDAY CAKE
Lisa had Food Lion here in Wadesboro, NC make the birthday
cake and Peppa Peg is a favorite cartoon of Miss Lily.
The Gonzales family was already here at the Porter home when I
returned from our Wadesboro Church of God morning service and Miss Lily
met me at the door stating that she got a Shopkins for her birthday and
was super excited.
After our meal of some Chicken and Dumplings, of which I prepared
early Sunday morning, it was time to cut the cake.

Miss Lily opted for a butter and jelly biscuit, however she did try a
few bites of Chicken and Dumplings.
Miss Lily blew the candles out before I could snap a pix and had to
light the candles again.............grin if you must!

After everyone had a piece of the birthday cake, Miss Lily got her
Paw Paw aka yours truly to play with the Shopkins toys in the main living room. I
had to get down eye level with Miss Lily and play with the
toys.............grin if you must! Yes, I did a little groaning
and grunting getting back to my feet!
We had a wonderful time and I would ask Lily how old she was and she
would say five (5) and extending her open hand denoting five years old;
as she would say, "A whole hand full."
As I like to say at every opportunity on this web site,
"Two of the Greatest Ships that ever Sailed,
Friendship and Fellowship" and we certainly did sail!
