RACHEL MYERS RETIREMENT PARTYThe below
pixs were taken at the Wadesboro Church of God Fellowship Hall on 09-09-05.
I have them archived on a back-up CD and just now got around to reducing the
file size for web publishing. The camera I used back then was an
Olympus Stylus 400 at a whopping 4 Mega pixel maximum file size. I
have taken some decent pixs with the camera over the years but in a large
room with mixed lighting, it leaves a lot to be desired since it is
basically a point and shoot camera without many manual adjustments and/or
options other than fixed programs.
I don't remember the details of who headed up the retirement party or the
Master of Ceremonies, but there were many relatives and friends along with
employees from Rachel's
former employer Wade Mfg., Co., Inc. that were there.

soon as I put the camera down.

Vernon Harris who married one of Rachel's sisters Janet, provided some
homespun entertainment and he is a ball of fun especially with the kids.
He has a pile of stuff on his person to keep you grinning and laughing.
Also, Ann Porter did a song or two and others gave short talks as well.

In closing, I do remember that it was an excellent retirement party and
Rachel gave a good motivational talk. It took me seven (7) years down
the road from Rachel's Retirement Party before I could join the ranks of
retired folks and I have enjoyed every day. I tell folks that I have
only found one thing wrong with retirement and that is,
"You never get a day off".......grin
if you must!
God has certainly blessed Rachel and Wink Myers because they practice
what they preach and live true Christian lives dedicated to serving God
through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, their Church and fellowman.
I am proud to be one of Rachel's many Brother-in-Laws and consider her a
good friend!
