BEETS IN ORANGE SAUCE

INGREDIENTS:

1 can (1 lb.) small whole beets              2 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon cornstarch or flour        1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon MSG (Accent)              1/3 cup orange juice
1/4 teaspoon grated orange peel         2 tablespoons butter or margarine

Drain beets reserving 1/2 cup liquid.  Mix together in saucepan sugar, flour, salt, MSG and gradually blend in the 1/2 cup beet juice, orange juice and orange peel.  Bring to a boil and stir constantly for 3 minutes.  Add butter and drained beets.  Cover and continue simmering for 8 to 10 minutes.

YIELD: 4 servings
