The Wadesboro Church of God had our annual Christmas party this year in the fellowship building on December 9, 2017 starting at 7:00 P.M.

BOYCE ADCOCK GRILLING, CHILLING AND BBQing

Boyce Adcock volunteered to prepare the grilled chicken and Boston butts aka BBQ for the event with the ladies of the Church providing the veggies, desserts, condiments, etc.

I waited until up in the morning around 10ish to get a few pixs of Boyce doing the grilling and it was cold to my bones for sure.

Boyce is hunkered down against the wall trying to keep any breeze off himself.

Boyce had the usage of a loaner gas cooker to go along with his own charcoal fired cooker and he related to me that anything that could go wrong, went wrong which is Murphy's Law.  The loaner grill was supposed to have a full tank of gas of which it didn't and the fire went out and himself and Pastor Abee had a tough time getting it ignited again.  Also, Boyce loaned his meat grinder out and the person returning it, did not put the cutting blades back into grinder housing which rendered the meat grinder useless.  One or two of the Boston butts were still frozen, whereas they had been in the refrigerator for several days thawing out.  Morton Salt, has an excellent logo/commercial, "When it rains, it pours", however it will take on a negative connotation in this usage.......grin if you must! 

On a positive note, Boyce had a pot of coffee brewed in the fellowship hall and it definitely hit the spot.  Sister Abee was in the process of making custom table decor which was very creative, of which I have pixs of her finished work with the party pixs taken.

I went back later in the afternoon and captured a few more grill pixs:

While the Church members and guest began to arrive, I started taking pixs of the food items which definitely got my taste buds all worked up, but as soon as it is chow time, the camera will be put aside and can pout all it wants too.....grin if you must!

Pastor Sam Abee blessed our food and the event!

While the festivities were going on, the ole camera caught Sister Abee with some serious nonverbal communications directed toward one of her children.......grin if you must!

GUEST SPEAKER PASTOR DWIGHT HUFFMAN

Our guest speaker was Pastor Dwight Huffman, Pastor of the Marshville, NC Church of God.  Pastor Huffman gave the true meaning of our Christmas celebration backed up by a good amount of scriptures and you could feel his Love and devotion for Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.

JESUS IS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON!

With all the commercialization of our CHRISTMAS Holiday and so many attempting to get on the Political Correctness Band Wagon of not wishing to offend anyone and to me, they have no backbone and don't stand for anything that really matters and are mere puppets; "Pull my little strings and I'll do anything."  Without Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, there would be no Christmas since Jesus is the Reason for the Season and the reason for every day that we are allowed on this earth!   Whatever your personal Faith and Religion are, it is your choice and right;  I choose to be a Christian!  I have a lighted Star of David and a Cross elevated about 40 feet above ground to give symbolic tribute to Christ and the Christmas Season and several Angels to go along with the traditional seasonal decor.  Laus Deo "Praise be to God." 

NOTE:  Due to health concerns and other factors, I do not have any outside Christmas decor up this year.

CHURCH MEMBERS RECOGNIZED

PRAISING GOD WITH SONG AND MUSIC

We closed our Christmas party celebration with several Christmas songs.  Pastor Sam Abee led the vocals and guitar playing with Bill Porter providing some backup on the Dobro aka resophonic guitar.

Our Christmas party celebration was a great success with the food and fellowship awesome.  "Two of the Greatest Ships that ever Sailed, Friendship and Fellowship" and we definitely sailed in harmony.  A special THANK YOU to Boyce Adcock for braving the cold weather to prepare the grilled chicken and Boston Butts aka BBQ and everyone that contributed to make this event a success.  If my counting was correct, there were forty-one (41) present at the party.

My bride was not able to attend our Christmas party due to the dampness of the weather which inflames specific medical issues and she was certainly missed.
